The agreement establishes a framework for cooperation to explore opportunities in digital transformation, software development, cybersecurity and emerging technologies.

RES Synesis, a Gruppo RES company, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Information Communication Technology and Innovation (MINICT) of the Republic of Rwanda to promote opportunities for collaboration in digital transformation and technological innovation.

The agreement establishes a framework for cooperation to help advance operational and administrative processes through the adoption of innovative technologies, the development of digital solutions and the modernisation of IT systems.

Areas of collaboration

The Memorandum identifies several areas of potential cooperation in which RES Synesis’s technological expertise and project delivery capabilities could contribute to joint initiatives. These include:

  • Digital transformation and IT consulting, to advance processes and modernise IT systems.
  • Software development and systems integration, to improve the interoperability and efficiency of digital platforms.
  • Artificial intelligence, data analytics and automation, to explore new applications of emerging technologies.
  • Cybersecurity and digital resilience, to support the security and reliability of technology environments.
  • Application management and operational support, to manage and continuously improve IT systems.
  • Specialist training and knowledge transfer, to support the development of technical expertise across ICT disciplines.

The framework also includes opportunities to explore pilot projects, research initiatives and exchanges of expertise, as well as solutions involving digital infrastructure and emerging technologies.

Innovation and international collaboration

“We believe that digital transformation is a key driver of development and that collaboration between businesses and institutions is essential to technological progress and skills development. Our engagement with Rwanda’s Ministry of ICT stems from this vision and provides an opportunity to share experience, project expertise and know-how in a particularly dynamic and innovation-focused environment,” says Roberta Vitali, CEO of RES Synesis.

“The agreement opens a dialogue with MINICT to identify potential areas of collaboration and develop initiatives aligned with the country’s technological needs. We will work to assess practical opportunities in software development, systems integration, cybersecurity and emerging technologies,” adds Raffaele Apicella, Sales Director at RES Synesis.

A framework for developing new initiatives

The agreement provides a foundation for identifying and assessing potential joint initiatives, based on shared priorities and any project requirements that may emerge.

Any activities will be defined through separate implementation agreements, in accordance with applicable regulations and the procedures required for each project.

Through this initiative, RES Synesis reaffirms its interest in contributing its digital technology expertise and experience while exploring new opportunities for international collaboration.
