UpTown is built on a flexible architecture that supports both simple, single-platform and single-system configurations and more complex, multi-platform and multi-system enterprise environments.

The solution comprises three main components:

  • an administration and design component for defining batch processes, parameters, functional groups and management rules;
  • an end-user component supporting process search, selection, parameterization, submission, monitoring and file exchange;
  • a technology interface component that analyzes requests, starts batch processes and monitors their execution.

UpTown can interface with widely used Identity and Access Management systems or use its own internal control functions.

Definition import and export capabilities support the lifecycle management of processes and parameters and can be integrated with change management systems. Services for requesting and monitoring batch processes are also available as SOAP web services, facilitating their use within enterprise portals and web applications.

The solution integrates with schedulers, security systems and DBMSs, and supports the SFTP protocol. Its interface component runs on IBM z/OS, Unix, Linux and Windows platforms.
