Within the guide, RES Group is included among the 25 Representative Vendors for its Mainframe IT Governance offering. This new mention adds to the recognition RES already received in the Gartner Market Guide dedicated to mainframe and legacy migration and modernization solutions, where RES was named a Representative Vendor thanks to its RES Suite products.
The new guide explores a specific and increasingly strategic area for many organizations: services supporting the management, optimization, modernization, and operational continuity of critical enterprise systems. It’s a distinct but complementary scope compared to the tools-focused Market Guide, as it shifts the focus from technology solutions to the role of professional services in governing and evolving core systems.
According to Gartner, many organizations have no intention of moving their applications off the mainframe, due to their critical nature, the lack of equivalent functionality on alternative platforms, the operational risks tied to migration, and a return on investment that is often insufficient. At the same time, the shortage of specialized skills is pushing more and more companies to turn to system integrators and specialized partners for the management, optimization, and evolution of these environments.
